The Team

We are very proud of our specialised team. The majority of our team members have either a BCom Communication Management Honours Cum Laude degree or have been recognised as the top achiever of their class in their respective courses; everyone on the team has extensive experience in the field of business communication.

Regine le Roux, Managing Director

Academic Qualifications: M.Com (Communication Management),  University of Pretoria 2003.

Regine is a corporate reputation specialist. She completed her Communication Management Honours degree Cum Laude at the University of Pretoria in 2001, and completed her MCom within a year.

Regine founded Reputation Matters in 2005 and hand picks and manages several teams that implement communication strategies.

She has gained much practical experience through several Communication, Change and Marketing Strategies compiled for clients in both the private and public domains. These include the following sectors: Government, Waste Management Industry, Asset Management, Education, Human Resources, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical and Retail. These businesses encompass parastatals, multinational companies; JSE listed companies as well as privately owned companies. Regine has mentored several students with their MBA thesis submissions at the Milpark Business School in Johannesburg.

Regine developed the Repudometer®, which is one of the first tools that has been developed to measure organisational reputation.

Regine is the Chairperson of the Western Cape PRISA Committee, and is also on the Board of the Rotary Club of Newlands, responsible for Public Image.

Regine is the author of: Reputation Matters, Building blocks to becoming the business people want to do business with.

Over weekends you will find her donning her pink skort for the Hout Bay Harriers.

Regine is fluent in English, Afrikaans and a very basic conversational French.

Winet Fourie, Regional Manager: Western Cape

Academic Qualifications: B.Com Honours (Communication Management) Cum Laude, University of Pretoria 2011

After completing her B.Com Honours degree in Communication Management (Cum Laude), Winet took the adventurous route and moved to South Korea where she taught English to children of all ages. Upon returning to South Africa, she started her career in communication management where she gained extensive experience in reputation management.

Since starting her career at Reputation Matters, Winet has been part of numerous projects specifically in the environmental space where she has assisted with obtaining fantastic media exposure for an industry that is close to her heart. She has a passion for strategic communication management and supports her clients with detailed communication plans which targets all their key stakeholder groups. Winet has a keen interest for reputation research and is part of the research team. Most recently, Winet was part of the Institute of Waste Management of Southern Africa (IWMSA) reputation research study.

Apart from being a strategic thinker, Winet enjoys being creative and comes up with design solutions both internally and for clients.

Winet is fluent in English and Afrikaans.

Lara de Stadler, Regional Manager: Gauteng

Academic Qualifications: B.Com Honours (Communication Management) Cum Laude,  University of Pretoria 2013.

Lara is full of energy, drive and has a passion for the field of Communication Management and its numerous possibilities and ventures.

She enjoys working on a variety of different projects and has compiled strategic communication plans and policies for her clients based on results obtained from our reputation research tool, the Repudometer®.

Lara loves working with people and is most interested in Crisis Communication Management. She compiled a research report, using content analysis, on the topic for her Honours thesis.

Lara’s hard work and dedication is an asset to the Reputation Matters team, she is thrilled to be a part of an exciting, industry-leading agency.

Lara is fluent in English and Afrikaans.

Zydèlia Kleinhans, Regional Manager: Gauteng

Academic Qualifications: B.Com Honours (Communication Management) Cum Laude, University of Pretoria 2013.

Zydelia is an enthusiastic research specialist. She completed her B.Com Honours in Communication Management Cum Laude and is currently working towards her M.Com degree. Her Masters research study focuses on leadership communication and leadership style preferences of Generation Y in the workplace. Within the communication realm, Zydelia is interested in reputation management with a specific focus on reputation research.

Zydelia has worked on various Repudometer® research studies whilst being part of the Reputation Matters team including research for Leadership Magazine and the Institute of Directors Southern Africa (IoDSA).

She sees herself as a transformational born leader that leads by example, who embraces change and motivates others to do the same. This makes her an invaluable member of the Reputation Matters team.

Zydelia gained practical experience working as an assistant lecturer, while completing her Honours degree at the University of Pretoria. She formed part of the re-branding team and assisted with introducing various new corporate communication and marketing material to the department. She was also actively involved in managing marketing events and networking with clients.

Her passion and inquisitiveness towards the field of communication management drives her to add value and always go the extra mile in all endeavours.

Zydelia is fluent in English and Afrikaans.

Harriet Burke, Media Specialist

Academic qualifications: BA. Social Science (Politics, Philosophy and Economics) with distinction,  University of Cape Town (2007). B.A Honours (Journalism and Media Studies) with distinction, Rhodes University (2008). Certificate in Public Relations – University of Cape Town (2013).

Harriet started her career as a daily news journalist in 2009 and in 2014 changed her focus area from the newsroom to the corporate communications arena and public relations. She covered health, court and general news at The Times in Johannesburg for more than three years and while there her work was shortlisted for two categories of the Discovery Health Journalism Awards in 2012. She was twice awarded a fellowship from the International Women in Media Foundation in 2011 and 2012.

Harriet completed a certificate in Public Relations through the University of Cape Town in 2013 and has transferred her insider understanding of the media and extensive writing and editing skills to the corporate environment where she assists clients with establishing and maintaining excellent media relations which result in opportunities for positive exposure. Harriet is also part of the dynamic media training team that equip organisations with a thorough understanding of how to deal with media, ultimately leading to an improved reputation.

She also has experience working in a rural setting. While living in Limpopo she was a researcher for women’s rights organisation and later an English language teacher at a school in Thohoyandou.

Harriet is fluent in English and Afrikaans.

Nalene de Klerk, Media Liaison

Academic Qualifications: B.Com Honours (Communication Management) Cum Laude, University of Pretoria 2015.

Nalene recently graduated from the University of Pretoria, achieving her Honours degree with distinction. She is passionate about corporate communication and reputation management. On the long term she aims to become a specialist in leadership and crisis communication.

During her Honours year, her main research project focussed on the media relations of an agricultural organisation. Other exam assignments dealt with crisis communication during historic nuclear disasters, internal change communication and how governmental communication may address wide-spread protests in South Africa.

Her motto over the course of her studies was to grab every opportunity. She became involved in student bodies as chairperson and secretary, mentored and tutored first year students and wrote modules for a business analysis textbook.

She spends her free time in ballet or contemporary dance classes, monitoring the news or reading.

Nalene is fluent in English and Afrikaans. She is in the process of learning Sesotho.

Chris Bischoff, Research Analyst

Academic Qualifications: B.Tech Environmental Management (2015), CPUT.

Chris qualified in Environmental Management in 2015, achieving a Golden Key award for being identified as part of the top 15% academic achievers in the field of Environmental and Sustainability studies.

He focused his B.Tech Thesis research on identifying the source of solid waste pollution that occurs on Hout Bay beach. This involved organising beach cleanups to collect data from analysing collected waste. This was done with the aim of implementing source reduction as a waste management solution in areas of high waste generation.

Alongside his studies he has been actively involved with a local NPO in Hout Bay who addresses sustainability issues in under-resourced communities. This gave him experience in environmental auditing, sustainability assessments, environmental education and organisational communications.

He spends his free time surfing and exploring our coastline for new surf spots, mountain biking and playing guitar. He is also a new dad on the block.

Fluent in English. Second language is Afrikaans and is currently learning German.

Nadia Nel Corporate photoNadia Nel, Media Liaison

Academic Qualifications: B.Com Honours (Communication Management), University of Pretoria 2011.

After completing her B.Com Honours in Communication Management in 2011 Nadia gained five years’ experience in the Business Insights industry with a particular focus on the strategic storyline and content development for online Customer and Employee Experience communities. Previous industries to which she has had exposure include: Banking and Financial services, Continuous Professional Education, as well as Government departments.

Her interest in partnering with clients to co-create communication management strategies that reflects their organisations’ true and authentic identities was sparked by the topic of her primary research project during her Honours year. The project focused on identifying the sustainability reporting patterns of selected South African listed companies’ (across a set of market sectors) by means of content analysis of these reports. The SAMRA Young Researchers Award 2011 was awarded to her and her research partner for this project.

She has passion for working with people, sharing in each person’s unique story and journey, and adding value to their lives. She also believes that communication plays a pivotal role in corporate storytelling, which is a fundamental “enabler” of how an organisation’s vision is implemented and contributes to building their reputations.

She adores her family and has recently become a Mom, she believes Motherhood has been her greatest journey of self-discovery to date. Her personal interests include spending time outdoors whether by means of camping, mountain biking or running. She loves orchids in full bloom and aims to start her own orchid nursery, as well as a vegetable and herb garden soon.

Nadia is fluent in English and Afrikaans.

Brad Mitchell, Media Liaison

Academic Qualifications: BCom (Communication Management), University of Pretoria 2012.

Brad is an enthusiastic and dynamic member of the Reputation Matters team. Having joined in 2017, Brad is happiest when being able to create in a positive environment. He thrives on passion and the ability to make a difference in whatever way possible.

Brad completed his BCom in Communication Management in 2012 at the University of Pretoria. With experience in a variety of industries such as Property, Media, Education, Events and the travel industry, he brings a unique perspective to the team.

Brad is an avid sports fan and enjoys nothing more than being in the outdoors either with a fishing rod in his hands or a surfboard under his feet.

Lara Tollner, Executive Assistant

Academic Qualification: Secretarial Diploma with Distinction

Lara’s passion for organisation and administration has been built over 20 years of experience in the administrative industry.

Her experience in the field of Executive and Personal Assistance incorporated working for Managing Directors and Partners of some leading accounting firms such as Ernst & Young, LPH Chartered Accountants Inc. and Grant Thornton in Cape Town.

Lara’s business, PSA Services, provides professional secretarial and administrative services designed to assist in all spheres of business administration.

She has a diverse client base, both local and abroad, encompassing a variety of industries and clientele that is perfectly suited to her passion for people and her desire to create systems, structure and organisation that is essential in any business.
